Galvanizing

Galvanizing

Galvanizing process, also known as hot-dip galvanizing, is a process in which the iron and steel are immersed in molten zinc in order to make it corrosion resistant. They are made corrosion resistant by adding multiple zinc-iron alloy layers and zinc metal coating on them. A metallurgical reaction occurs between the iron inside the steel when the steel is immersed in molten zinc. Hot-dip galvanizing is a very useful process to make steel and iron corrosion resistant. Galvanizing provides maintenance-free and long-lasting corrosion protection at very reasonable rates.

Hot-dip galvanizing process includes three main steps:

  •   Surface Preparation
  •   Galvanizing
  •   Inspection
