Cable Lugs & Terminals
Tinned copper, aluminium, and bimetallic crimp lugs for power termination.
Cable Lugs & Terminals — Overview
India Electricals Syndicate supplies crimp-type cable lugs and terminal connectors made from electrolytic copper, aluminium and bimetallic stock for low- and medium-voltage power terminations. The lug transfers the full cable current into the busbar or equipment stud with a gas-tight crimped joint — the integrity of every power connection in a panel depends on the correct lug, barrel and conductor match.
The range covers conductor sizes from 1.5 sq.mm to 1000 sq.mm in tinned copper, aluminium and bimetallic (Cu-Al) construction, with inspection holes and chamfered entry for full conductor insertion. Bimetallic lugs allow aluminium cable to terminate safely onto copper hardware without galvanic corrosion at the joint.
Lugs are manufactured to IS:8309 / IS:14255 practice with electro-tin plating for corrosion and contact resistance control, suitable for power distribution, switchgear and motor terminations. Documentation is supplied against specification. Send your cable schedule with a quote request for a sized offer from our Howrah desk.

Frequently Asked Questions
What conductor range do IES cable lugs cover?+
1.5 sq.mm to 1000 sq.mm in tinned copper, aluminium and bimetallic construction for LV and MV terminations.
When is a bimetallic lug required?+
When aluminium cable terminates onto copper hardware — the bimetallic (Cu-Al) joint prevents galvanic corrosion at the connection.
Are the lugs tin-plated?+
Copper lugs are electro-tin plated to control corrosion and contact resistance at the crimped joint.
Where are they supplied from?+
India Electricals Syndicate, Howrah, Kolkata — serving Indian power and industrial projects since 1972.
What specifiers say about IES cable lugs & terminals
“IES has been our specified cable tray and earthing vendor across multiple thermal projects. Documentation, MTC, and dispatch discipline have been consistent over years of supply.”
“Hot-dip galvanizing micron consistency and IS 12352 conformance on every batch — that's what we rely on for corrosive coastal sites. Lead times from Howrah are predictable.”
“For solar mounting structures across our 50 MW deployment, IES held the galvanizing spec across 30,000+ pieces. Quality dispute count: zero. That tells the story.”
