Ladder Cable Tray
Long-span heavy-duty ladder trays for demanding industrial environments.
Ladder Cable Tray — Overview
India Electricals Syndicate has fabricated ladder cable trays at its Howrah works in West Bengal since 1972. The open ladder profile — two side stringers joined by transverse rungs — gives the highest heat dissipation of any cable management system and lets large-diameter power cables be cleated directly to the rungs at fixed intervals. It is the default choice for heavy power runs in refineries, power stations and steel plants where cable weight and ventilation are both critical.
Each tray is roll-formed from certified steel with MIG-welded rungs on 300 mm standard spacing, in stringer widths from 75 mm to 1200 mm and 1.6 mm to 3.0 mm sheet. The deep return-flanged stringer carries up to 300 kg/m over a two-point span of 6 metres, allowing wider support centres and fewer accessories on long horizontal corridors and cable tunnels.
Manufacturing complies with IEC 61537 and IS:12352, welds to AWS D1.1, with hot-dip galvanizing to 85 micron minimum for outdoor, coastal and offshore duty. Pre-galvanized, powder-coated and PVC-coated finishes, and SS 316L construction, are available against project specification, each despatch backed by mill test certificates and inspection records. Frequently Asked Questions
What is a ladder cable tray used for?+
A ladder cable tray supports heavy power and control cables on welded rungs with maximum ventilation. It is used for long-span power runs in refineries, power generation, heavy industry, cable tunnels and offshore platforms.
What span and load can IES ladder trays carry?+
Stringer widths run 75 mm to 1200 mm with rungs at 300 mm spacing, supporting up to 300 kg/m on a two-point span of up to 6000 mm.
Which standards do they comply with?+
IEC 61537 and IS:12352 for the tray, with rung welding to AWS D1.1 and steel to BS EN 10346. Documentation is supplied against project specification.
Where are IES ladder cable trays manufactured?+
At the India Electricals Syndicate works in Howrah, Kolkata, West Bengal, in continuous production since 1972.
