Perforated Cable Tray
High-ventilation perforated trays for multi-cable industrial routing.
Perforated Cable Tray — Overview
India Electricals Syndicate has manufactured perforated cable trays at its Howrah works in West Bengal since 1972. The perforated profile — a slotted base pressed into a rigid channel section — keeps power and control cables ventilated, dissipates heat along long horizontal runs, and lets dust, moisture and condensate fall away instead of collecting on the cable bed. It remains the most widely specified cable management system for Indian power, refinery, steel and infrastructure projects where airflow and serviceability matter.
Each tray is press-braked from certified cold-rolled steel coil with a controlled 35% open perforation area, then formed into widths from 50 mm to 900 mm in 1.2 mm to 2.5 mm sheet. The return-flanged side rails deliver a high strength-to-weight ratio, supporting up to 150 kg/m on a three-point load with minimal deflection — sufficient for densely loaded panel rooms, cable galleries and outdoor racks without intermediate supports at close centres.
Manufacturing is held to IEC 61537 and IS:12352, with raw material to ASTM A653 / EN 10346. Trays are supplied pre-galvanized in Z275 or Z350 zinc class, hot-dip galvanized to 85 micron for aggressive outdoor and coastal duty, or powder- and epoxy-coated where a specific finish or colour is required. Stainless SS 304 / SS 316 construction is available for offshore and chemical service. Every despatch is backed by mill test certificates, in-house inspection records and project-specific packing lists.
Perforated cable trays from IES are routed into power distribution panel rooms, data centres, refineries, hospitals, railway and metro systems and offshore installations across India. For project quantities, BOQ-matched sizing or a stamped datasheet against your specification, request a quote and our Howrah engineering desk will respond with a documented offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a perforated cable tray used for?+
A perforated cable tray is a slotted steel support system that routes and ventilates power and control cables along industrial runs. The perforations dissipate heat, drain moisture and reduce dust build-up, making it the standard choice for power plants, refineries, data centres and infrastructure projects.
Which standards do IES perforated cable trays comply with?+
India Electricals Syndicate perforated cable trays are manufactured to IEC 61537 and IS:12352, with steel sourced to ASTM A653 and EN 10346. Documentation including mill test certificates and inspection reports is supplied with every order.
What sizes and load capacity are available?+
Widths range from 50 mm to 900 mm with 50 mm or 100 mm depth, in 1.2 mm to 2.5 mm sheet thickness and 2500 mm standard lengths. Load capacity is up to 150 kg/m on a three-point span, with a 35% perforation open area.
What surface finishes are offered?+
Pre-galvanized Z275/Z350, hot-dip galvanized to 85 micron, powder coating (60–80 micron) and epoxy coating. Stainless steel SS 304 / SS 316 is available for marine, offshore and corrosive chemical environments.
Where are IES perforated cable trays manufactured?+
They are manufactured at the India Electricals Syndicate works in Howrah, Kolkata, West Bengal, where the company has produced cable management systems continuously since 1972.
