GI Earth Strip & Flat
Hot-dip galvanized earthing flats for grounding networks.
GI Earth Strip & Flat — Overview
India Electricals Syndicate manufactures galvanized iron earth flats and strips at Howrah for substation grounding mats, equipment bonding and lightning-protection down-conductors. The buried earth grid is the backbone of every substation safety system; GI flat is the most widely specified conductor for it in India because of its mechanical strength, weldability and cost over large grid areas.
Flats are produced from IS:2062 steel and hot-dip galvanized to IS:4759, in standard cross-sections to the grounding design, with drilled, bent and welded configurations made to the grid layout. The galvanized coating resists soil corrosion over the design life while keeping joint resistance low at welded and bolted connections.
Material is fully traceable with mill and galvanizing certificates supplied for tender and inspection. Share your earthing grid drawing and conductor schedule with a quote request and the Howrah engineering desk will return a cut-and-bent offer.
