Solid Bottom Cable Tray
Closed-bottom cable trays for sensitive instrumentation and signal cables.
Solid Bottom Cable Tray — Overview
India Electricals Syndicate manufactures solid-bottom cable trays at Howrah for instrumentation, fibre-optic and low-signal circuits that must be shielded from electromagnetic interference and physically protected from falling debris, dust and dripping fluids. The continuous unperforated base forms a closed channel that keeps sensitive cabling clean and screened along the full run — the preferred routing method for control rooms, analyser shelters and signal corridors.
Trays are press-braked from cold-rolled steel coil with a smooth burr-free base and return-flanged sides for rigidity, formed to project widths and depths with covers available where complete enclosure is required. The closed profile also doubles as a containment path where minor liquid ingress must be directed away from the cable bed.
Construction is held to IEC 61537 and IS:12352, with pre-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated finishes and stainless options for corrosive or hygienic environments. Every order ships with mill test certificates and inspection records. Request a quote with your instrumentation schedule and the Howrah engineering desk will return a documented offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should a solid-bottom cable tray be used?+
For instrumentation, fibre-optic and low-signal cables needing EMI screening and protection from dust, debris and dripping liquids — typical in control rooms, analyser houses and signal routing.
How does it differ from a perforated tray?+
The base is continuous and unperforated, so it shields and physically protects sensitive cabling instead of ventilating it. Perforated trays are used for power cables needing heat dissipation.
Which standards apply?+
IEC 61537 and IS:12352, with finishes including pre-galvanized, hot-dip galvanized and powder coating. Stainless steel is available for corrosive duty.
Where is it manufactured?+
At India Electricals Syndicate, Howrah, Kolkata — manufacturing cable management systems since 1972.
What specifiers say about IES cable trays
“IES has been our specified cable tray and earthing vendor across multiple thermal projects. Documentation, MTC, and dispatch discipline have been consistent over years of supply.”
“Hot-dip galvanizing micron consistency and IS 12352 conformance on every batch — that's what we rely on for corrosive coastal sites. Lead times from Howrah are predictable.”
“For solar mounting structures across our 50 MW deployment, IES held the galvanizing spec across 30,000+ pieces. Quality dispute count: zero. That tells the story.”
