Transmission Line Towers
Lattice steel towers for HV and EHV power transmission.
Transmission Line Towers — Overview
India Electricals Syndicate fabricates hot-dip galvanized lattice steel transmission towers at Howrah for 33 kV, 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and 765 kV lines. A transmission tower carries conductor, wind and ice loading for decades in the open environment; tower reliability depends on certified angle steel, accurate hole-punching and proven galvanizing — each controlled and documented by IES.
Towers are manufactured from IS:2062 angle sections to PGCIL, CEA and state-utility type designs, with full mill-test traceability and pre-assembly proof-checking so members fit at site without rework. Angles are precision-punched on the design grid and hot-dip galvanized for the line’s outdoor design life, then proto-assembled to verify geometry before bulk despatch.
Every tower ships with mill certificates, galvanizing records and assembly drawings for utility inspection. Share your tower type, line voltage and bill of quantities with a quote request and the Howrah engineering desk will return a fabricated tower offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which line voltages does IES supply towers for?+
33 kV, 132 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and 765 kV transmission lines, to PGCIL, CEA and state-utility type designs.
Is the steel traceable?+
Yes — IS:2062 angle sections with full mill-test traceability and pre-assembly proof-checking before despatch.
How are towers protected against corrosion?+
Hot-dip galvanized for the line’s outdoor design life, with galvanizing thickness records supplied for inspection.
Where are they fabricated?+
At India Electricals Syndicate, Howrah, Kolkata — in continuous manufacture since 1972.
What specifiers say about IES transmission line towers
“IES has been our specified cable tray and earthing vendor across multiple thermal projects. Documentation, MTC, and dispatch discipline have been consistent over years of supply.”
“Hot-dip galvanizing micron consistency and IS 12352 conformance on every batch — that's what we rely on for corrosive coastal sites. Lead times from Howrah are predictable.”
“For solar mounting structures across our 50 MW deployment, IES held the galvanizing spec across 30,000+ pieces. Quality dispute count: zero. That tells the story.”
